How to Trade Pokemon That Trainers Must Know

Pokemon exchanging activities can be done between two trainers who are at least 100 meters away from each other in real life. When exchanging Pokemon, you must use Stardust as a payment fee. If you exchange a Pokemon already found in the Pokedex, then only a minimal amount of Stardust is required. This allows trainers to freely trade most of the Pokemon they encounter within reasonable limits, as Stardust is an important resource. Game online Pokemon trading can benefit trainers by obtaining additional attractive prizes.

Process of Trading Pokemon Go

Pokemon statistics will change randomly within a certain range when traded. Before completing the trade, the trainer will see the range of CP and HP that the Pokemon could potentially have when the trade is complete. There are several careful calculations in determining the range, as follows:

  1. There is a companion trainer level check to ensure that the Pokemon does not have power beyond what a trainer at that level can normally obtain. The calculations obtained are as follows:
** If a Pokemon is caught while being strengthened by weather, the Power Up level is given 5 levels from the recipient’s trainer level.
** If a Pokemon is caught while not being strengthened by weather, the Power Up level is given 2 levels from the recipient’s trainer level.
  2. Assign a new, completely random Individual Value with a minimum value based on Friendship level, and that base value will increase the higher the level.

In other words, as a trainer’s Friendship level with a friend increases, they will have a slightly greater chance of receiving a powerful Pokemon when exchanging. There is a possibility that a Pokemon will become superior after making an exchange and it could be the other way around.

Costs of Trading

Exchanging any Pokemon requires a predetermined amount of Stardust for each Pokemon to be targeted and depends on the friendship level of the regular trade or special trade.

The table above shows the costs for exchanging Pokemon. The term Regular Pokemon includes region exclusive Pokemon, baby/base form Pokemon. Meanwhile, the term for New Pokemon is a Pokemon that has just been registered in the Trainer’s Pokedex. Note that any forms of Shiny that have not been registered are considered new; the cost is not affected by registering the base form or even any other Shiny form of that Pokemon variant (unless something happens like a Shiny Costume accidentally results in the registration of the normal Shiny form of that species).

It can be seen that the costs for regular Pokemon that have not been registered have the same costs as the costs for Shiny Pokemon or Legendary Pokemon that have been registered. Additionally, the friendship discount only applies to special trades and the regular trade value is 100 regardless of friendship level.
